BLACKBIRD OPERA

Blackbird Opera features an exciting cast for this summer’s Opera Cycle during Dumfries & Galloway’s Summer of Cycling.

Local Soprano Claudia Wood is Blackbird Opera’s Producer & Director. She performs all over the UK and is delighted to bring opera to audiences across the region again. Claudia will be joined by Baritone Phil Gault who has performed with Scottish Opera & Opera North. Phil enjoys cycling and has completed IronMan Wales in 2018 after leading the anthem at the start in a wetsuit! Completing the trio of singers is Tenor Matthew Kimble who has appeared with various companies including Opera Holland Park and Grange Park Opera. Accompanying the singers, highly acclaimed Dumfriesshire-based Katharine Durran describes herself as a ‘pianist for all seasons’ which will be an invaluable asset for performing outside in the Galloway Hills!
