Off-Bike Activities – Raiders Gravel

As always Raiders isn’t just about riding your bike in one of the UK’s most beautiful places, back at the event village in Gatehouse of Fleet there’s plenty to do after your rides.

While the details for 2023 are set to be unveiled closer to the event, we are planning to make off-bike activities at next year’s Raiders even better than last year.

Thursday

On the opening night of the 2022 event early arrivals rode a few kilometres to the coast where we toasted marshmallows and had a talk about the Galloway Dark Sky Park. A fantastic social ride and brilliant opportunity to get to know the other riders and make some new friends. The social ride will make its return in 2023.

Friday

Our event village in Garries Park was buzzing, our small expo attracting people all day, and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained well into the evenings.

On Friday endurance gravel riding legends Emily Chappell, Jenny Tough and Markus Stitz spoke about at length on a variety of fascinating topics about their riding, body image, personal challenges and truly mesmerised the crowd with their open, honest and inspiring discussion.

Saturday

Then, on Saturday we had presentations from the local distilleries, with Annandale talking about their whiskies and Dark Art their gins before live music on our main stage. There was a bar and food too.

The event HQ in Garries Park is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the shops, cafés and pubs of Gatehouse of Fleet where you’ll receive a warm welcome.
